The Happy Handmaid

.
Although we suddenly remembered the worst thing about Elisabeth Moss the other day, that's not going to keep us from wishing her a happy 35 - she's brought us too much acting enjoyment for that. Just call it The Beck Conundrum - put on Modern Guilt or show me that gif of Peggy walking and smoking and I have to dance myself through the thoughts of all the people's lives that Scientology has ruined. Anyway so that's what we're doing today - we're dancing ourselves over to The Film Experience where this week's "Beauty vs Beast" is tackling Moss' current zeitgeister, The Handmaid's Tale, a series that knows a little something about cult behavior.

Thousands of people are murdered by Muslims every year. Do you waste as much time fretting about Riz Ahmed or Mahershala Ali and all the lives that Islam has ruined? Or is that too much for your hypocritical, bullshit cognitive dissonant pea brain to handle, you religious bigot?

Christ you're so angry. I take back what I said - Scientology could clearly help you, Anon. Good luck!

Shit Beck really i don't know what to do with that. i will say that peggy is the tits but moss truly blew me away in top of the lake season 2. if everyone just shared what it is they believe in and account for some of the shit not spoken about i think it would all be easier to stomach.

There is only so much to Scientology though that's the difference fellow anon. The pleasant parts are awfully pleasant and not dissimilar to the positives in many religions, the remaining facets, however, completely contradict them. If all that nastiness (ostracizing family members, squirrel squad hecklers, purported violence, imprisonment) was actually spoken about instead of denied with no evidence to contradict all the people who have spoken out, then maybe the dark cloud over its head wouldn't hold so much weight. The response instead is practically a Devito Esq im big your small im right your wrong, deny, deny, debase, deny, shut you sp mouth rarara. Those asshole extremists are extremists, Islam just happens to be the religion they tarnish with it. Then there are asshole white hood-wearing cross-burning Christian extremists though any other Christian would not be represented by them. Plus Scientology is more of a business anyway it's only a religion because they could avoid tax that way.
