Look at them! They're just babies. So Donnie Darko has gotten a 4K restoration that is opening in a couple of theaters (including the Metrograph here in NYC) this weekend, and so today The Film Stage chatted with Richard Kelly about his film-making style and what-not - read that here. It's a great chat! (thanks Mac) But the most important bit is that they get him to admit, eight years after his last film came and went, that he's actively working on something! Some things, plural, maybe even...
"You know, it’s been some time. And again, it’s a question of schedules. But I’ve also spent a lot of time writing and developing a lot of different screenplays and making sure all the right resources are in place to do the next film — the next films, plural — properly. I don’t want to pull the trigger on a film unless I know I have what I need and the resources are in the right place. Hopefully we’re really close."
