... you can learn from:

Libeled Lady (1936)

Gladys: I don't care who he is.
Nobody talks to me like a house detective.
Warren: How do you know how a house detective talks?
Gladys: Don't you think I read?

Jean Harlow was born on this day in 1911.

Such a wonderfully talented comedienne once she found her footing in film, her early appearances are painfully amateurish-though her star quality shines through even then. Libeled Lady is one of her very best, if not the best, performance of her career though she is electric in Red Dust.

Her premature death is such a tragedy. Like Carole Lombard she was still at the top of her game and had so many years and fantastic performances ahead of her.
