Baz Luhrman's Romeo + Juliet was released on November 1st 1996 making the film 20 years old today, meaning this movie is older than either of its lead characters, and by a considerable sum. As for its actors Claire Danes was just 17 when they filmed, which... well that just seems crazy in retrospect. She is so good in the movie. Leo was (and remains, I suppose) five years older. I think that butt, seen on VHS in a high school freshman English class, single handedly made my voice change.
God, Whiting was beautiful! For a brief time, he was sort of the Zac Efron of his day.
But the career never happened, and his life after the moment passed has been rather sad. He's still around, unrecognizable after all these years, making occasional appearances at "Where Are They Now" events.
Whiting kind of reminds me of Alain delon. Leonardo has never been more beautiful than he was in that movie so essentially these lovely blog followers are saying he is less attractive than Leonard Whiting which is hard to believe...because its just not so.
