The Powell Is Yours

I can't speak of Scream Queens things right now lest I spoil recent developments but you should know I have been shaking my fist (at least i think it was my fist) in Ryan Murphy's general direction all week. Anyway in other Glen Powell stuff this is quite the stuff:

Leonardo DiCaprio, Glen Powell Teaming for 'Captain Planet' Movie

[Paramount[ is in talks for the rights to the 1990s cartoon series, and is eyeing Jono Matt and Scream Queens star Glen Powell to write the script... There's no word yet as to whether Powell, who is known for his acting work in such projects as FX series Scream Queens and Richard Linklater's most recent film Everybody Wants Some, will also star in the project.

... One thing intriguing to Paramount... was the subversive take by Matt and Powell on the material: Sources say the story takes place years after the adventures of the show, with the Captain now a washed-up has-been who needs the kids more than they need him.

Well this was not a story I anticipated reading today. What a world. Anyway I remember watching a lot of Captain Planet back in the day so I was surprised when I just looked it up and saw that the cartoon only aired for three years (1993-1996) while I was in High School - what the fuck was I watching Captain Planet for at that age? Oh right I didn't have any friends so I went home and watched kiddie cartoons and hid from everyone. Ahh memories.

You were making me feel extra pitiful about my high school years as well, but it looks like it actually first aired in Sept. 1990. Reputations saved!

Ahh right you are MN - I misread Wikipedia; there was a sequel series called The New Adventures of Captain Planet that began in 1993. PHEW, somewhat better :)

Why have you been so quiet on this season's American Horror Story? Evan Peters making out with his male valet!!
