Pic of the Day

Oooh boy I forgot this was a thing -- Walter Hill, the director of The Warriors (yes that The Warriors), has a new action movie coming out this fall which was called Tomboy but is now called (Re)Assignment and which stars Michelle Rodriguez as a male assassin who gets turned into a female assassin after being "double-crossed by gangsters and a rogue plastic surgeon operating on the fringes of society." Yes, this is a thing! It will premiere at Toronto in September and The Playlist has several pictures but I had to go with the shot of Sigourney Weaver, who yes, is in this, and is giving me total "I can't believe I am in this either - somebody send me to the loony bin" glamour.

You know, there comes a few things that you didn't know you were missing in your life, things you never knew you needed until you heard about them. I need this movie.

Exploitation films are some of my favorite. Pam Grier and Danny Trejo wouldn't have careers without them. American Horror Story would not exist today if they weren't a thing. So many former A and B list celebrities' fame would have petered out long ago if not for these gems.

Not all of them are worthy of mention. A lot are just shit. But, Whatever Happened to Baby Jane, what, I say, what?

If this doesn't sway you that this could be fun trash: Jason Statham would not be in your life if it wasn't for exploitation films. Jason 'diving bulge' Statham.

Give Sigourney's turn in this transploitation crap a chance. Michelle needs the work too.
