The Colorless King

.
Lawd knows I love looking at Charlie Hunnam and Jude Law, but my first reaction to these, the first two shots of those same two actors in Guy Ritchie's upcoming film King Arthur: Legend of the Sword (previously Knights of the Roundtable) via EW, is exasperation.

Why is everything so goddamned drained of color, Guy? Why has everyone decided that the only way to visualize Ye Olden Times is to drain everything dead? Yes, they were probably muddy. Yes they were probably scabby and smelled of cabbagey vomit. I don't care! It's a movie. Give me gorgeous Excalibur gaudiness or give me death!

But these are MEN! How else would you know to take them seriously? And they must be taken seriously because they are (straight) MEN! Color is for poofters.
