I Want 2 Be Scared

.
A pair of posters have been released for a pair of horror flicks that I am literally champing at the bit - literally, I went out and bought a bit and just so I could literally champ on it - to see: above that's the new poster for Adam Wingard's The Woods, which we saw the first teaser trailer for back in May. Wingard is the director of You're Next and The Guest so, you know, he's just one of the best genre dudes on the scene right now. The poster is clearly riffing on the Cabin Fever & The Blair Witch Project posters...

... although I feel like it's missing some of their hook, you know? The red-on-black is striking of course, but in the end it is just... woods. Anyway the people who've seen this movie are very very positive, so I remain psychotically eager. The movie is out in September. Next...

... star Ethan Embry tweeted out that new poster for The Devil's Candy yesterday - TDC is directed by Sean byrne, the director of the glorious Aussie horror rom-com The Loved Ones from 2009, and the dude hasn't done a thing since which is bonkers. BONKERS.

This film still doesn't have a release date though - it's been playing festivals; indeed it played the Scary Movies fest here in NYC last Fall but I made a most egregious error and wrote down the wrong time for the screening and I missed it and seeing this poster is bringing back the queasy feeling I had over my stupidity when that happened all over again, urghhhh. Anyway if I can stomach it - literally! - I will keep track of release news; it's also supposed to rock faces off.

LOL I alllllways fuck that saying up. I have done it on here like ten times before. I will NEVER remember. But I will fix it! Thanks for the reminder ;)

Yeah, that Woods poster is pretty generic. Even the tagline is super basic. But the marketing department and the filmmakers are two different groups of people so hopefully this is just the former's fault and not a sign about the movie's actual quality.
