Have You Watched Stranger Things Yet?

.
You need to watch it, if you haven't.
I love love loved the living hell out of it.
If you have watched it, tell me your thoughts!
And go read this glossary of references, too. Although...

... I think they left out a big one...
.
.
Also I think that the sister character named Nancy is shout-out to Nancy from A Nightmare on Elm Street -- we even get to see her (spoiler!) building booby-traps for when a creature from another dimension is tricked into their own. Anyway, what he said...

Finished watching it last night. If you enjoyed 1980s era Stephen King or 1980s era Steven Spielberg, it's recommended.

The little girl who played Eleven is a revelation and she needs an award.

My only complaint were those damn kids. I'm not crumudgenly, I just really hate stupid, ugly kids. Well, that, and that fucking moron dad. You know the one. I wish the monster had eaten him while he sated his shit for brains face on that damn chicken. God, to think she had 3 kids with that lump of fat between the ears.

Yes, I am getting worked up over that show because I friggen loved it. It was just incredible and the best damn show in years. The pacing was off, which made the humor and horror so much easier to process. If it had been on, the humor and the horror would have totally been shit together, since it wasn't black humor.

Winona is my soul. She just totally killed this. I expected to hate the Chief, but he redeemed himself so spectacularly. 11 was so damn awesome. Charlie Heaton was both nice to watch acting wise and pants wise; he knew how to wear those pants. The lights, the monster in the wall, that fucking bathroom ending, HOLE LEE FUCK! WOW!

I need another hit of that good shit, stat!

Loved every minute of it--it took me back to my own teenage years in 1983, especially the Dungeons & Dragons sessions with pals and the clunky walkie-talkies ... yes, I was a nerd, and I don't regret it.

And David Harbour was yummy...all of a sudden I'm so envious of Julia Stiles now.

I loved it! I have to pour one out for Barb, though. She was pure, micro-distilled 80's, and I had my fingers crossed that they would find her. Why couldn't she also come back with some weird slug?!

I thought it was great fun. I was hooked from the opening credits and the John Carpenter like theme. I really hope it gets renewed for another season or two. Here is an interesting read, some I agree with some no way:

Thanks Amazon for taking a chance on this one. Watched them all in 2 days.

Love it!!! It was totally a love letter to the 80s. Is it me or is Winona a horrible actress? Can't wait for season two.

I couldn't really tell if Winona was really bad or really good in it. Maybe I couldn't get past the hair do.

This is easily the best Stephen King/Steven Spielberg movie/series of 1983. I'm half-way through, and I'm loving it!

What a brilliant homage to 80s genre films! It feels authentically 80ish.

And the music! Perfect.

Watched the 1st two eps so far. Very enjoyable. A Stephen King story as filmed and directed by Steven Spielberg. The story, the direction, lighting and cinematography, the costuming, and set design, the teenage and preteen cast, all hit the right notes. It's 1983 again.

The hubby and I loved this show so much!!! It's great to see Winona working again, but eeesh...she was the weakest link (acting-wise) in the whole thing. PLEASE, some gifs of David Harbour as the sheriff!!! (swoon)
