What Animal Are You?

.
The Lobster, the new film from Dogtooth director Yogros Lanthimos, is finally out on May 13th after a long winding road to release -- I saw it way way back at the New York Film Festival in October and have been accosting strangers on the street about its offbeat majesty ever since. It is wonderful! I've seen it a couple of times since then, and it totally gets better with every viewing.

Anyway if you don't know the gist of the story watch the trailer here -- the film's set at a resort of sorts where people go to find love, but if they don't find love within a prescribed amount of time, they are turned into an animal.

"A wolf and a penguin can never live together,
nor could a camel and a hippopotamus.
That would be absurd."

Absurd indeed, Olivia Colman. The movie's a wonderful absurdity, endlessly ridiculous in all the ways I adore. Anyway the fine folks at the distribution house A24 are the ones releasing the film and they've given us a great online game to play -- click here to find out what animal would best suit you! Here's mine, which I am totally down with:

It gave me three choices based on my answers. The Bison one is hilarious. I picked Eagle but I'm probably more of a dog based on the descriptions.

BISON
STOIC, PRAGMATIC AND BRAWNY, BISON ENJOY THE FREEDOM OF THE WIDE OPEN PLAINS, HANGING WITH THE HERD, AND PLENTY OF ANAL SEX.

EAGLE
STUNNING, BOLD AND AUTHORITATIVE, EAGLES ARE PATRIOTIC, TYPE-A HIGH ACHIEVERS WITH SOARING SPIRITS AND A LOVE OF FLIGHT.

DOG
LOYAL, PERCEPTIVE AND KIND, DOGS CAN SMELL EMOTIONS AND SEE IN THE DARK, BUT THEY OFTEN DEVELOP CODEPENDENT RELATIONSHIPS AND ARE PRONE TO SEPARATION ANXIETY.

I got cock and peacock, haha. The descriptions did not describe me AT ALL. Cute quiz and great film, nevertheless.
