Time To Get Your Creepy On

.
For some reason I've missed the New York Asian Film Festival for the past couple of years, not sure why, but they've just announced their 2016 line-up and that certainly won't be happening this time - they're showing Creepy, the new horror film from Kiyoshi Kurosawa! He's the guy behind The Cure and Pulse, two mainstays of the Japanese Horror pantheon, but he's spent the past several years making respectable movies like Tokyo Sonata and last year's Journey to the Shore (which I saw at the NYFF and did not like).

So anyway we're pretty psyched to have him dirtying up his hands again -- Creepy's plot is described as being "about a maniac who infiltrates and corrupts the nuclear-family unit," always a promising potboiler to unfurl. There is a trailer but be forewarned it is for the time being sans subtitles:

Looks... dare I say... creepy!!! Anyway click over to FilmLinc's website for the complete list of films showing at NYAFF this year -- there are certainly more to check out! And as a bonus here's a nice picture of the actor Hidetoshi Nishijima, who co-stars in Creepy, a handsome dude indeed...
