Now Isn't That Special

.
I'm here to tell you all that complaining works, my friends. Only two days ago I took to whinging about the fact that I missed Jeff Nichols' latest film Midnight Special - a sci-fi family drama starring Michael Shannon and Joel Edgerton and Kirsten Dunst and Adam Driver - while it was playing in theaters.

But here we are and it's Friday and the weather's pretty decent and suddenly we have word on the film's home release -- and it's not really that far away!

The film will be released digitally in just over three weeks on June 7th, and then the film will hit DVD and Blu-ray on June 21st. I can manage to wait that long, I think. Did any of you guys manage to see the film? I only heard good things, but then Jeff Nichols has yet to make a dud in his career.

In case you missed it here's the film's trailer:

I saw this film weeks ago and it´s ok, nothing new, nothing special. It builds and builds but it goes nowhere. I have to disagree with you regarding Nichols, I think he´s the kind of US director festivals love to overhype because he´s referential or whatever. If he wasn´t American no one would be talking about him IMO.

The ending with the BIG reveal was the only thing I wish they left to the audience's imagination, but otherwise I loved it.

As a movie it was fine, but I found myself getting more and more upset as the movie went along and every single speaking role was a white person. I think the first PoC spoke more than an hour into the movie, and even then for maybe five minutes? Normally I don't notice that sort of thing, but this was really glaring.

Joel Edgerton was so HOT in that movie.
