Gimme Some, Tyler Hoechlin

.
Richard Linklater's film Everybody Wants Some!! only opened on 19 screens this past weekend so asking if any of you happened to see it is probably like shooting minnows in a sea-sized barrel, but perhaps perhaps? I did not, but Kyle Buchanan's piece at Vulture arguing the case for the film's accidental homoeroticsm has certainly sealed the film's essential viewing status...

"There’s a shot in Richard Linklater’s Everybody Wants Some!! that is so casually obscene, I couldn’t believe a straight director filmed it. If you have any eye at all for the male form, you’ll know the moment when you see it: It’s the shot where Tyler Hoechlin, as college ballplayer McReynolds, reclines on a couch, his barely clothed body draped over the piece of furniture like an artful provocation. The camera hangs at crotch level, gazing up at the tanned abs that Hoechlin’s crop top leaves uncovered, while the actor’s muscular left arm is tucked behind his head, his armpit an erogenous zone on confident display. It’s an image so sexy that the friend I saw the film with actually let out a yelp."

When the trailer first alighted this was precisely what I was hoping for from the film, so I'm glad that Linklater followed through on that promise, at least. Otherwise word on the film's been fairly muted. That picture up top is supposedly in the new issue of Interview (via, thanks Mac) although it's not properly online yet; I'm hoping there will be more pictures once it is! For now there is however a photo-shoot of Tyler's co-star (and one-time beloved Chad Radwell) Glenn Powell, so hit the jump for those pictures, which are certainly not a bad way to kill the time...

Hi JA, I'll check this out, likely on BluRay. I forgot how much I enjoyed your blog, I like how you think.

I saw the movie last night and really enjoyed it. A few scenes of guys in white briefs and a really likable cast.
