When the first trailer for last year's Sundance horror smash was released I told y'all there was no way I was watching it because I wanted to go in fresh, but since an entire year passed between hearing the movie would kick my ass and its release I grew weak, back-sliding, and I've now seen the trailer like fifteen times. Oh well. Soon! Soon! Soon. Soon. Sigh.
"Rain was her first real starring role. She's quite good in Daisy Kenyon and in Sadie Makee. Dancing Lady is fun, and she dances with Fred Astaire. The Bride Wore Red is also quite good. And of course, there's her magnificent performance in The Women."
"Possessed (1931 version. She made 2 movies by that name. Fitting somehow). Sadie McKee - 3 leading men and the great song "All I Do Is Dream of You". Laughing Sinners - She joins the Salvation Army!"
--- For the great Joan Crawford's birthday I asked y'all to recommend some of her early films to see, and I got many answers - to single out a couple that's what Pierce & DCameron had to say. I guess I have some binge-Joaning to do! What do you think?
