Congrats to Tom Hardy on his first Oscar nomination! And congrats to Robert Pandini, seen there arranging Tom's scalp - he too got nominated this morning, although I'm not sure whether what he's doing there counts as Make-Up or as Hair-styling, so it's good the award is for both. (pic via)
It's very very weird for me to feel less bile towards The Revenant than I figured I would at this time of year - don't get me wrong, I am still convinced that Iñárritu is straight up the devil...

... but as I said in my review The Revenant is to my eyes the least obnoxious thing he's done in awhile (if not ever) - it's silly and over-done and nowhere near top of the 2015 heap, but at least it's not patently offensive like The Big Short or dull as dishwater like Spotlight. And I enjoyed Tom Hardy's typically wacky performance.
