I Am Link

.
--- Unmasked Avenger - How about that new Daredevil picture, hmm??? Hell yes. Anyway we're still about seven weeks out from the second season of Daredevil plopping onto Netflix in full, but the cast are already making the chat-rounds and DH gathered up some choice bits from them -- at first it surprised me that Charlie Cox says he hasn't heard anything about his character popping up in the great big Avengers movies to come, but then I realized that well even if he has heard something he certainly can't talk about it. Anyway I won't rest until Charlie Cox is wrestling with Chris Evans in front of me, I won't rest!
.
--- And Speaking of Charlie (a favorite pastime of ours) he's just signed on to star in a vampire movie!  It's called Eat Local and it is being directed by veteran actor Jason Flemyng. The two starred together in Stardust, which is where I first fell for Charlie -- sounds like I wasn't the only one. And now I'm going to spend all day picture Flemyng & Cox, you know, bonding...
.
--- Gay People - The Playlist reviews a movie out of Sundance called Other People which stars Jesse Plemons as a gay comedian whose mother, played by Molly Shannon, is dying of cancer. You had me at Molly Shannon! You always have me at Molly Shannon. But I'm curious to see Plemons play gay, and there's apparently a sex scene between him and The Office's Zach Woods that "depicts gay lovemaking with a casualness and unselfconsciousness" so that sounds, you know, interesting.
.
--- Big Foot - The first poster for Steven Spielberg's Roald Dahl adaptation The BFG is here and it's pretty much what you expect it to be -- there's a girl and there's a part of a giant. But which part of the giant, hmm??? (Mind's out of the gutters, pervs. This is a kid's movie.) If you guessed "ear" you'd be wrong, even though if you've read Dahl's wonderful book you'd have had reason to guess his ear. I wish it was his ear.
.
--- Thom Thumb - I kind of didn't want to even post this news because I was hoping that in my hesitation Radiohead would drop their new album, surprise, and announce a great big US tour, but 24 hours have passed and nothing so I'll go ahead -- the band has announced a couple of shows at festivals around the globe this summer, including one in Switzerland, and if you think I didn't immediately google how much tickets to Switzerland for this summer cost upon reading this news yesterday then you just do not know me one iota.
.
--- Faux Feelers - I hope and trust that all of you have seen Charlie Kaufman's Anomolisa now that it's properly released into the world, and beyond that I know you love it like I did, because otherwise I don't want to know. Anyway there's a nice piece on that film and how it fits into Kaufman's love affair with the extraordinary over at Vox that's a few days old but I just got around to. (thanks Mac)
.
--- Masters of Dreams - What a glorious week it has been, gifted as we have been with Stacie Ponder tackling the Nightmare on Elm Street franchise over at Final Girl -- she's worked her way up to the fourth film today, which elicits an MNPP-approved shriek of horror, and not of the correct sort. What do you guys think, are meatball people the series' low-point? I'd probably have to go with the Roseanne Barr scene myself but I can't remember which one that's in - I think the fifth one? The fifth one is poison.
.
--- One McQueen To Rule - I'm sure that this morning 45 Years director Andrew Haigh looked back at yesterday, with all the smiles the news his new project - a bio-pic about the designer Alexander McQueen - was met with, and sighed wistfully of things past, now that his Best Actress nominee Charlotte Rampling has gone and shoved her foot ankle and entire leg right down her throat with uh let's say misguided comments about the #OscarsSoWhite backlash being itself racist. Hey maybe she is auditioning for the John Galliano part in Haigh's film?

Roseanne scene is from the sixth one -- Freddy's Dead -- which is awful but still beloved by me. The fifth one is not so bad but nearly as good as the fourth. I mainly am angry at the fifth one b/c it killed the very hot Dan, Alice's baby-daddy!

Nothing to do with this post but a new trailer for Disorder has been released.
