First Exit To Brooklyn

.
I've been pretty bad at keeping up with release dates as of late -- I never know what's ever out when until the very last minute and if it weren't for the awesome opportunities that I get to see Fall Movies ahead of time at the New York Film Festival or at the random press screening here and there I'd fall desperately behind. Point being I just checked what's out today and John Crowley's film Brooklyn, starring Saorsie Ronan as an Irish lassie caught between worlds Old and New (as rendered by two hot dudes played by Emory Cohen and Domhnall Gleeson) is out today, and if you have even the slightest whisper of romance left in your cold dead hearts you should very much see it. I reviewed it right after NYFF, read that here; the film is warm and lovely and thinking upon it makes me read these words I'm typing with the softest gentlest lilt suspending them like music. Or if that's not enough for you Emory Cohen can be seen in a old-timey bathing suit, too. (More here.)

Emory Cohen is so fucking charming and sexy in it. Domhnall Gleeson is so very, very not. I couldn't imagine why there was meant to be suspense in that last act!
