Everything You Ever Need To Know About Life...

... you can learn from:

The Leopard (1963)

Tancredi Falconeri: If we want things to stay
as they are, things will have to change.

When I wished Burt Lancester a happy birthday earlier I mentioned his work in this film, but I missed the fact that today is also the birthday of this film's director, the great Luchino Visconti. Visconti was born 109 years ago today in the lovely city of Milan, after which he went on to make a bunch of wonderful movies that told the world various things in rich detail but most importantly, "Hey that Alain Delon fella... he sure is purty."

And he was right!
Thanks for sharing, Luchino!

The name of the great Italian director is Luchino, not Luciano. Love your blog! Greetings from Italy.
