Today is the 113th anniversary of the great Elsa Lanchester's birth - I trust y'all are wearing your sexy bandage dresses and teasing out an electric hair-stripe in her honor? When I dedicated this week's edition of "Beauty vs Beast" to Bride of Frankenstein earlier this week (you can still go vote!) I didn't even realize there was this overlap -- Elsa's cleaning up in the poll, roundly trouncing Boris' monster, and even though my vote went to Karloff I get why she's winning. There's no knocking what she accomplished with her itty bitty bit of screen-time. Icon! And if you've never read her fantastic autobiography it's seriously one of the greatest ever written, find a copy and do yourself a solid and read that shit like gangbusters.
