Matthias and Tom look hot. Matthias is just how I pictured Gabriel Oak but better looking.
Matthias looks great and he'll make a fine Gabriel Oak but it's going to be tough to top Alan Bates, who was even able to make that awful beard with out mustache style work for him, in the original.
I just don't get Sturridge. He attractive in his way but Sgt. Troy is such a dick that without Terence Stamp's icy calm and penetrating gaze I can't see how he'll make him work.
Actually, somewhat surprisingly, Sturrige is best in show here and Matty isn't given nearly enough to do or say and he's not all that great...
The non critics I've come across who've seen it all liked Matthias but in the early reviews some critics don't like Matthias and others think Tom is the weak link. Only Carey and Michael are getting unanimous praise.
