Good Morning, World

.
Once again Looking is a show that defeats my capping abilities - when it becomes necesarry to cap minutes upon minutes of scenes, all I can do is say -- WATCH THE SHOW.

That said I could hardly let Russell's bum go wanting. Never.

In all honesty though I don't think I am on the same page towards Patrick and Kevin (and Ritchie, for that matter) that the show is - this season's turned me on all of them, and I just don't care about any of them or their irritating problems. I loved the first season! Patrick has become insufferable, which is not what I want from this show - I am not watching Girls here, I didn't think I was going to be watching Girls, and I want to watch Looking in a different way than I watch Girls. I watch Girls to be entertained by hating those brats. Patrick has become too much of a brat, and I'd rather watch half an hour with just Dom and his goddamned chicken window drama. (I actually mean that - Dom's become the most interesting thing on the show to me, and I was SO DISAPPOINTED when Patrick crammed himself into that funeral trip; I was hoping for a breather, a Dom & Doris episode all their own.)

But don't get me wrong, I still like looking at Jonathan Groff and Russell Tovey naked and touching each other. If they'd just shut up. Anyway where are you guys on the show?

I had a really tough time watching the first season. It wasn't until later when the two older men, one of them Scott Bakula, got together that I really enjoyed it. I'll probably get the second season when it's available on Netflix, but I find so much other stuff to see that I'm never in a hurry anymore.

If you haven't seen it, there's a delightful silent comedy called Show People starring Marion Davies and William Haines available on disc. Haines was fired from MGM because he was gay and wouldn't give up his boyfriend. He later became a successful interior designer and Joan Crawford that Haines and his boyfriend had the "most successful marriage in Hollywood." William Mann wrote a terrific biography of Haines, too. Check it out!

I have mixed feelings towards kevin and patrick.. Augustin is better off this season. Doris is fking awesome. Richie is so judgemental. Patrick is a selfish brat, but at least in the last episode he is becoming tolerable...

I feel like there will never be enough of Dom and Doris, haha. Those two are my favorite things about the show. I hate the fact that Patrick had an affair with a guy who already was in a committed relationship. I mean, yes, it's Russell fucking Tovey! I'd want to get with that too, but my god, just wait for him to break up with the boyfriend first. For that reason alone, I'm not a huge of Patrick or Kevin. But as long as they're together, I'll happily look at the two of them in various states of undress. ;) Augustin is perfectly fine this season though I honestly didn't really get all the hate he got last season. He's not a super compelling character, but he's not terrible by any means. I actually like Richie this season. He's less full of himself. I definitely don't want him to get back together with Patrick though. Side Note: Who's the hot, wet guy on the header (or whatever it's called)? :)

That's Italian actor Nino Castelnuovo in The Umbrellas of Cherbourg, Remington.
