--- Post Snow - Chris Hemsworth must've written "Give me all the women!" into his
contract for the sequel to Snow White and the Huntsman - yeah okay the
"Snow White" portion's gone but he's now got Charlize Theron, Emily
Blunt, and the just-announced Jessica Chastain as his co-stars. That's a whole lot of actressing about to drop around him.

--- For 15 - Now that the Oscars are over The Oscars have just begin... next years, that is. The Guardian's piece on the folks who could win next year is making me think that next year could be much better than this year - Michael Fassbender! Quentin Tarantino! Jake Gyllenhaal, oh my! Jake's slate does look pretty impressive in 2015 though - he's got that mountain-climbing movie Everest, he's got his boxing (and abs) movie Southpaw, and he's got Demolition with Jean-Marc Vallee, who's been getting his actors in the ring for the past two years.
--- XXX-Ray Vision - The first poster for the second Avengers movie is indeed a dreary sludge but hey at least it inspired this very funny series of thoughts from Nathaniel over at The Film Experience. Favorite bit:
"You can see The Vision floating up near the top. They let him keep that bright yellow cape though we don't know if his skin will be red and his costume green. Seems unlikely. That's a lot of primary colors for a movie! I don't know why but I now equate his relationship with The Scarlet Witch to with Doctor Manhattan & Silk Spectre so if there's not a CGI generated scene co-starring Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany with a bright red penis, I'm going to be disappointed."
In related news to that, a few images of Vision design work did indeed sneak their way online today and I am finding the snugness of the costume heartening - as long as it's actually Paul Bettany in there for some of it, and not totally CG, that is. You know that Paul Bettany can pull off some lycra!
.
--- Tax Free - I know I posted about this at one point but I'm too lazy to look it up - Thom Yorke teamed up with Massive Attack to make the soundtrack for the documentary The UK Gold, which is about tax evasion in the UK, and this morning the whole damn thing dropped online for free.
.
--- Space Action - This list at Cracked of movie scenes you didn't realize were altered by CG is pretty interesting in general but the best bit is finding out that we get to see more of Peter Facinelli's beautiful bum
than previously thought - what the film presents to us as a sex scene
between James Spader & Angela Bassett was actually shot as a
sex-scene between Facinelli & Robin Tunney; they used CG to make
Tunney's skin-color dark! So that's not been Spader's butt all these
years, but rather Facinelli's!

--- A New Final - Screenwriter Jeffrey Reddick, who wrote the first Final Destination movie and birthed one of the greatest franchises of all time (and I mean that most sincerely) is set to make his feature directorial debut with The Final Reel
(he likes the word "final" I guess), which is about "a director who can
manipulate reality through film and torments the residents of a small
town by bringing their darkest fears to life." Okay, sure..
--- Gimme A V-H-S - I can't believe I haven't linked to this yet - last Friday our pal Stacie Ponder brought back the delightful Awesome Movie Poster Friday at Final Girl, this time centered upon some great olde (the extra "e" is for "exoskeletons") VHS box art. I've talked about my child-like wonderment in the face of Cheerleader Camp's skeleton under-boob before, but it always brings me great joy.

--- Pose & Shoot - That action-thriller Stratton that Henry Cavill's been set to make for awhile that's based off a popular series of books has found its director - Simon West, the dude who blows up shit real good (see Con-Air or The Expendables 2... or better yet don't see those movies they're terrible), has signed on to direct. It will film this year. West has worked with Jason Statham a couple of times now, so let's hope we get Henry and Jason teaming up and yes by "teaming up" I mean straight up humping like bunny rabbits.
