Happy 25, Stella

.
If you're new here at MNPP then maybe you've never heard about my complete obsession with Bette Midler's 1990 film Stella. I documented it thoroughly, and I do mean thoroughly, several years back - click here for the epic post. I watched this flick so many times in my formative years it's a part of me, a deep deep part of me, one so deep I can't even pretend to be ashamed about it even when my brain tells me to. No shame! Stella forever!

Well break out the room filled with balloons, because Stella turns 25 today. It was released on February 2nd 1990; it came in 2nd place after Driving Miss Daisy. I doubt I saw it in the theater - I'm sure it was home-video after the fact where our love affair began - but the moment should still be commemorated.

And what better way than to make you make like our beloved Jenny-girl (Trini Alvarado) and choose between the Bad Boy (Ben Stiller as coke-snorting, burger-fingering Jim Uptegrove) and the Good Boy (William McNamara as the living embodiment of khaki Pat Robbins)? Your entire life will be decided by which man you choose, people! This is life and death stuff here!!!

I love ya, Jenny-girl!
