I Am Link

.
--- Horror Heavies - When I heard that Ryan Murphy was going to be making a new series a la American Horror Story for FOX that would be slasher-specific and called Scream Queens I did think to myself, "Ooh imagine Jamie Lee Curtis!" Actually I've he should add JLC to AHS every season. So here we are and JLC, the ultimate Scream Queen, the Queen of the Scream Queens, is doing the show. (The Scream Queens show, that is, not AHS.) I am the screaming queen right now, screaming with joy. She's being joined by Ryan's bestie Emma Roberts (graduate of AHS and the fourth Scream movie) and I know it's kind of an unpopular opinion but after a rocky start I've grown to kinda like Emma. So I'm cool.

--- Speaking Of AHS though our pal Jarett at BuzzFeed talked to Evan Peters about the new season of American Horror Story (I keep waiting for him and Dandy and the twins to have a four-way, waiting and waiting and waiting) and Evans comes off as a total sweetheart. I hope Emma Roberts doesn't beat him up anymore.

--- Weed Whacker - This isn't a tremendously interesting interview with Idris Elba really (number of times he talks about his penis: zero) but he does talk about that thing Dave Chapelle said about Idris being his pot dealer, which I'm surprised he hadn't heard about until the interviewer asked him.
.
--- Game Of Cups - IndieWire dug up some details on Terrence Malick's two gestating movies, the one with Christian Bale (which involves him wrestling in the sand with Wes Bentley) and the one with Ryan Gosling & Michael Fassbender - naturally it's the latter we're more invested in since they were Ryan & Michael spotted all handsy on the set. The movie's described as "a tale of two intersecting love triangles, sexual obsession and betrayal" and we're down with the "sexual obsession" part. (Although has Malick actually ever been sexy?)

--- Mama Slash - Somebody once upon a time flipped my hate-switch with regards to everything that the studio behind the new Friday the 13th movies tries to do, and so once again here I am, finding everything they say just dumb when in theory I maybe shouldn't - sounds like they want his mom to be a character alongside Jason in the next movie? All I can for-see is a bunch of unnecessary back-story getting shoved down our throats. Keep it simple, stupids!

--- The Big One - The first few pictures of The Rock running away from apparently an earthquake in the big-budget disaster movie San Andreas have shown up (hi Carla Gugino!), you can see them here; Dwayne's looking so enormous these days isn't he? Like that's a big hunka rock right there. I am seriously excited about this movie though, I love me a disaster movie.

--- Forget It - I'm super glad that Michael C wrote this review at The Film Experience of Julianne Moore's Oscar-possible flick-in-waiting Still Alice cuz he said what I'd have said and now I don't have to bother. Juli's really terrific in it but the movie itself is kind of a pile of goo. (And god the dainty little score got on my nerves.)
