Well I haven't done one of these in awhile, but seeing as how lil' Leonardo DiCaprio is turning 40 years old today, why not? I'm not the world's biggest Leo fan - for a second I considered doing this as a "Three Thumbs Up" post, wherein I choose three performances I do like from an actor I generally don't like, but in the end that'd actually be unfair to Leo since he's given me more joy in my life than the likes of Downey Jr. or McConaughey. Granted he's coming off probably my least favorite - Wolf of Wall Street can go fuck itself - but we're feeling generous today. So here are my five favorite Leonardo DiCaprio performances, in no specific order.
Catch Me If You Can (2002)
"Two little mice fell into a bucket of cream.
The first mouse quickly
gave up and drowned,
but the second mouse, he struggled so hard that he
eventually churned that cream into butter
and he walked out. Amen. "
What's Eating Gilbert Grape (1993)
"Match in the gas tank,
boom, boom!"
.
boom, boom!"
.
Titanic (1997)
"No caviar for me, thanks.
Never did like it much."
Never did like it much."
Romeo + Juliet (1996)
"Death, that hath sucked the honey of thy breath,
hath had no power yet upon thy beauty. "
The Departed (2006)
"You sit there with a mass murderer.
A mass murderer. Your heart rate is
jacked,
and your hand... steady. That's one thing I figured out
about
myself in prison. My hand does not shake... ever. "
What are your fave Leo performances?

I'd say my favorite is The Aviator, one of the few Scorsese movies I like but Catch Me If You Can is highly enjoyable too.
I like Leo. The Departed, Inception, Catch Me If You Can and Titanic being favorites.
Titanic was about Kate Winslet for me, so I'd chose Romeo + Juliet. He's never looked as good as he did in that.
