We've begun reviewing films for the 2014 New York Film Festival over at The Film Experience - here's my take on Joshua Oppenheimer's staggering documentary The Look of Silence, which is a follow-up to his earlier also-magnificent doc The Act of Killing. It's a tremendous film; if I have to punch your face repeatedly to make you go see it don't doubt for a second I'm prepared to do just that.
The fest opens tomorrow with several showings of David Fincher's Gone Girl, which I should be seeing in the afternoon. I will keep you abreast of further Fest developments!
