Quote of the Day

.
I'm still waiting cough cough for a copy of that big beautiful Werner Herzog bluray set to show up randomly on my doorstep with a big bow and a note saying "Thank you for being a friend!" but until that happens I guess I'll just have to read wonderful interviews with the man like this one over at Vulture. (thanks Mac) There are two bits worthy of the title of "Quote of the Day" within - I love the part where he talks about how great his experience working with Nicole Kidman on Queen of the Desert has been and how he wishes he'd been working with actresses all his career (no kidding, Werner) but I think I have to tip my hat most to the bit where he's asked about having said he was raised, due to WWII, in a "fatherless generation":

"Thanks, god. Thanks, god. What a blessing! What a blessing that there was not a Nazi as a father around telling me what to do and how to conquer Russia! And how to be a racist! Thanks, god! I thank god on my knees everyday."
