I Am Link

.
--- Ladies At Lunch - I just spent my lunch reading this article at Vulture interviewing both Shaileene Woodley and Brie Larson - I will admit I skipped some of the Shaileene parts because she tends to grate on my nerves, but knowing Brie likes her does ease my disdain a bit. Or does it make me worry about Brie? No, never, I will never worry about Brie. My favorite bit was this quote from Brie on suddenly being a success:

"When your career has been like a parent who smacks you in the face a couple of times a week and then, in the last year, they say, ‘I’m now going to only hug you,’ it’s very hard to find a balance. I’m still waiting for the punch.”

--- Saint Nowhere - I'm not sure how I feel about an omnibus film about St. Petersburg, Russia, at least not one assembled by the country's own Ministry of Culture... not with that country's current political and anti-gay bent. But they've got me conflicted - apparently Todd Solondz will be directing one of the segments. Ralph Fiennes, too.

--- Rogue Woman - If you were curious why Anna Paquin even showed up in X-Men Days of Future Past when all she got was a walk-by cameo, you should read this admission from the screenwriter - apparently they shot a bunch more with her but it got cut. He explains why, and say it'll end up on the DVD most likely. All I wanna know is if there is an extended cut of Hugh Jackman's naked scene - like days upon days of footage of that, please.

--- Get Busted - There's still talk about a Ghostbusters 3 happening, and apparently Zombieland director Ruben Fleischer is maybe the man for the job. I was once enthusiastic about a third movie but add up the back and forth endless back and forth and forth and then the death of Harold Ramis and I feel a little less so. Fleischer's worked with Bill Murray though, so maybe he could get that waffler interested.
.
--- Get Edged - I hate the fact that I'm psyched for a Tom Cruise movie, but I reeeeally wanna see Edge of Tomorrow after all the good reviews. At least it's about Cruise being killed over and over again, and at least it's good news for director Doug Liman - dude made Go, he deserves everything good forever. Anyway here he is talking about his next movie, an adaptation of the Splinter Cell video-game series, which he's working on with Tom Hardy.
.
--- Eastern Promises - Good lord there are a lot of movies showing at the New York Asian Film Festival this Summer! I remember ten years or so ago when this thing was a dinky little disrespectful affair, but now it's just massive, getting all kinds of stars in for big to-do's... they've released the list of movies playing this year, you can read them here - anything look unmissable to you guys? I'm going to have to do some work to figure out what to watch. The new one from Ringu's Hideo Nakata sounds promising.

--- And finally thanks to Nathaniel (and to Murtada, who pointed it out to him) for sharing this fan interaction with Sarah Paulson, which is stuffed with goodness. Sarah Paulson seems like such a groovy broad, I wanna be her friend. This reminds me in the recent issue of New York Magazine she sounded off on her crush on Michael Fassbender again (here was the first time) and I have got to share it because good lord, she speaks for us all!!!

"Michael Fassbender is a man. He just looks at you, and you want to take your clothes off. Let me just say this—once he kissed me on the mouth, to say hello, and I almost fainted. The kiss was very platonic on his part. I could smell what he had for breakfast in the morning, you know what I mean? He could eat a pile of shit, and it would smell good on him."

Paulson bitching about Weinstein is the best.

I don't need more naked Jackman footage. 10 years ago, yes. As he is now, looking like he went through three cycles of HGH, BARF.

RE X-Men and Fassbender, have you seen the BTS gifs of him in a tank? Why the hell didn't Singer show him off in the film?

The name of the movie is "Ghostbusters". Just because Harold Ramis is dead doesn't mean he can't be in it.

Knowing Fassbender's past dating preferences, Sarah's unrequited lust is particularly hilarious when viewed through the prism of the love triangle their characters were involved in in 12 Years.

There is a significantly higher likelihood that Fassbender would date Lupita Nyongo than he would ever date her...just like in the movie.
