... you can learn from:
Showgirls (1995)
Cristal Connors: Oh, you know the best advice I ever got? You're up there on stage, hopin' on a spot. If someone gets in your way, step on 'em. If you're the only one left standing there, they hire you. That's about it. Thank you and good night, ladies and gentlemen. Elvis has left the building.
Happy 52, Gina Gershon! I'm taking her birthday today as a sign - a sign for me to spend money! Just last night I was contemplating buying this new book about Showgirls called It Doesn't Suck from critic Adam Nayman - you might know Adam via his online footprint, he's written for tons of places (DIFFERENT PLACES!!!) and is a consummate Twitterer. He's actually doing a screening of the movie in Queens this weekend at the Museum of the Moving Image, too. Showgirls on the big screen!!! The way it was meant to be seen - shielding your eyes from the enormous vaginas everywhere.
Anyway it being Gina's birthday means I should buy the book, obviously. It's meant to be! Everybody buy the book! We'll read it together while icing our nipples and throwing hamburger wrappers out of moving vehicles and oh, what a time we will have!
