My Bloody Valentine 3D (2009)

There are four moments of carnage of note in this lousy remake worth remembering... actually scratch that there are four moments of carnage of note in this lousy remake which are the only things I actually remember, period, because everything else is dreary filler. The bloodbath at the start, which the above moment's from, is pretty great - it makes you think you're going to watch an exciting movie for a hot minute! 

Then there's the scene at the motel. In quick succession come the other three moments of note - Todd Farmer (seen above, naked, because where did you think you were?) and Betsy Rue and Cho-pal Selene Luna all meet the business end of the miner's pick-axe in a pretty bonkers scene of nakedness and flying little people and gore galore. 

Otherwise we should just forget this movie exists and just go watch the original instead, which remains legitimately scary all these years later, and stands as one of the prime examples of effective slasher movies. (See a previous Way Not To Die from that movie here.) Still it's Valentine's Day so a visit from the miner's always due. He spells romance!
