I Am Link

.
--- Hard Bond - Idris Elba has some thoughts to share on how everybody wants him to play James Bond next, and so forth, and so on, and oh my goodness did you guys see his tweet about tuxedos and erections? That is my everything right now.

--- Before Golden - It's only a week until the Oscar nominations, where Frances Ha will sweep in all the categories... right? Sigh. Anyway Nathaniel and his merry band of statue mumblers are chatting up the what's what over at The Film Experience in the first part of their annual symposium.

--- Sex Maniac - Thanks to Masters of Sex I now adore Julianne Nicholson, so I was super happy when I saw her in August: Osage County - here's an interview with her on those two things that manages to only toss fuel on my fire for her, with revelations like she loves the original Oldboy movie and she's a big Game of Thrones slash Khal Drogo fan. Mmmm Momoa.

--- Dead Story - Somebody went ahead and gave a whole new generation of kids nightmares by mashing up the third Toy Story movie with The Walking Dead, cuz why not. Their arguments do make sense, although David Morrissey's got a much hotter ass than Lots-o' Huggin Bear.

--- Killer Auteurs - Maybe it's just that I always watch some of Roland Emmerich's film 2012 at New Years (a fun new tradition to ring in the year with the end of life as we know it, everybody try it) but it seems really wrong to me that he places so far down on the list of "The 25 Deadliest Movie Directors" that's been making the rounds. There are so so so many little pixelated people dying in 2012, how is this possible that he doesn't win? I swear you see more people die in that movie that the Lord of the Rings movies.

--- Good Night Wolf - I got all my ranting out of my system on The Wolf of Wall Street last week, I'd rather never talk about the movie again - I need to go watch After Hours or another old Scorsese movie I love to remind myself of good things. That said you need to go read what Daniel Walber says about the movie at Film.com, especially his note on Richard Brody's head-up-ass comments. All of it seconded.

Julianne Nicholson is also one of the luckiest woman on earth because she gets to share a marital bed with Jonathan Cake.

I love Julianne too. For some reason she reminds me of Shirley MacLaine and that's a happy memory.
