Good Morning, World

.
Judging by the fact that The Mindy Project seems to get Chris Messina half-naked, whether it be in a towel or even better a speedo, often, and also the fact that Beth Grant is on the show, I feel as if I would like The Mindy Project. Do you guys think I would like it? I am thinking I really need a funny show to watch, everything I watch is so serious and  dire all the time. I tried to watch Anna Faris' sitcom but as I've mentioned the constant laugh track ate my brains right through my face.

What funny shows are you guys watching that you can recommend to me? Keep in mind that I'm a picky asshole, so don't go trying to get me to watch something like The Big Bang Theory - the scattered snippets of that show that I've seen are amongst the lowest points, the darkest periods, of my entire life.

The Mindy Project is by far my favorite current sitcom. I was kind of miffed that Brooklyn 99 managed some Golden Globe nominations and Mindy got zero. So many people love or hate her, but breath of fresh air re: her character. PLUS SO MUCH MESSINA NAKED. (And Mark Duplass, unnfff)

Also they drop Fassbender references all the time... Fassbender penis references. I mean, all I'm saying is, it's my kind of show.

For me, the funniest shows that I'm currently watching are "Cougar Town", "2 Broke Girls" and "Raising Hope"...

But I have listed 2 shows that I'm interested in. "Raising Hope" and "The Crazy Ones"...

Who knows, maybe even if you are picky, one of those have the kind oh humor you're looking for ;)

Sorry for the mistake... in the second sentence I meant "Suburgatory" and not "Raising Hope" that I'm currently watching :\

I hated The Mindy Project in its first season but decided to give it a second chance this fall (mostly due to a Timothy Olyphant guest appearance) and was surprised at how much better it is now. Really sweet and funny and weird - deeply weird, and filled with hot guys. You should give it a shot.

Mindy's second season has been disappointing to me, except for Chris Messina (natch). If you want the most slyly humorous show I've seen in a very long time, check out GETTING ON on HBO. I've watched it twice in its entirety. It's absolutely brilliant!

Oh god yes Anon I have been watching Getting On, I forgot to mention that - IT IS FUCKING AMAZING. I love it. I want to marry it. That cast of ladies is just astonishing.

Alright they talk about Michael Fassbender's dick on The Mindy Project? I'm there. Sold!

Suburgatory is another one I've been meaning to watch, I love Alan Tudyk.

JA, I'm so glad you feel the same toward Getting On. If you marry it, would you care for a 3-way? Seriously, it's one of the best shows out there. I just hope it gets a 2nd season!

I actually really like Brooklyn 99. If you absolutely hate Andy Samberg (I can't recall your thoughts on him) you might not, but otherwise I'd say give it a shot! It takes a couple episodes to hit its stride but once it does it's pretty golden.

I also have a weird soft spot for The Goldberg’s. It’s a family sitcom set in the 80s with Patton Oswalt as the narrator. It’s very sweet and goofy, nothing super well done or ground breaking, but as a child of the 80s I love it. It’s also based on the creators actual life, recreating footage he shot compulsively as a young kid.

If you can stand your male cast a little more out of shape and pasty looking, I'd recommend Channel 4's 'Fresh Meat' about college house mates. 3 series so far and it gets better and better.

If your not watching Parks & Rec, you are an idiot.

Mindy is my favorite comedy on the air that I wouldn't give awards to, you know what I mean? I adore watching it and I think it's genuinely good, but no part of it is that merit-worthy. But seriously, I fucking love watching it (Chris being reasons #1-37).

I support the mentions of Raising Hope, Getting on and Fresh Meat (which is one of those slow burners, quality-wise). Speaking of random British shit that's on Hulu, EVERYONE SHOULD WATCH PRAMFACE.

OH AND TROPHY WIFE. I'm gonna be SO pissed when that doesn't get a second season while Modern Family is allowed to go on forever.

anon at 11:55 - I watched P&R for its first few seasons and adored it but I've kind of fallen off with it. Whenever I do watch it now it's still very funny, I just haven't kept up with it religiously like I had been.

Parks and Recreation is my single favorite show that's still on the air so I would suggest you catch the fuck up, Jason.

The Mindy Project did indeed get better, but I think it was always funny. I think if a show can make you laugh with its episode titles (last one was "Christmas Party Sex Trap") it's ahead of the curve.
