Good Morning, World

.
Was Jean Dujardin at the Globes last night? I didn't see him if he was, which is one more add-on for the gong club. What were your thoughts on the show? There were some very funny bits (everything with Julia Louis Dreyfus, for one) but everything was a come-down after Cate Blanchett threw massive shade at Bono on the red carpet, and several of my least favorite people slash performances were celebrated, which began to weigh on my mood after a bit. (Shut up McConoughey, Leto, and DiCaprio - shut up immediately.) But hey Diane Keaton was BEYOND awesome, so let's be happy, here's a pick-us-up with the shot where Martin Scorsese almost (but not quite...? Really it's impossible to tell what's happening down there, it's too fast) shows us Dujardin's penis in Wolf of Wall Street...

The Globes by and large irked me but thank God for the girls. Emma Thompson's Auntie Mame presenting(hey now that would be awesome casting of the first order that needs to happen now!!) was great! Cate Blanchett's boozy, mile a minute speech-best line "Thank you for plying me with vodka in the way that Judy Garland was probably plied with barbiturates." was fun.

She's been getting a lot of guff for it but I found Jackie Bisset's
slightly dizzy speech charming. Obviously she didn't expect to win and perhaps she was a bit tiddly, so she was flustered. If you saw her speak to reporters afterward in the press room it was clear she wasn't drunk just unprepared and happy.

Yeah, I loved Jacqueline Bisset's speech too. I was so surprised at how much of a negative reaction she got afterwards. I thought it was nice to actually see a genuine response instead of a fake, "oh my god I had noooo idea". She's been around for so long and has never won anything and you could tell she was really shocked and happy. It was so rude of them to play her off like that so quickly. There's no love for the legends I guess.
