I Am Link

.
--- Baby Buggy - STYD has the first three pictures from Cooties, the Leigh Whannell scripted horror comedy (I am assuming the comedy part because of this movie's title; I mean come on) about little kids at an elementary school who catch a strange virus that makes them go nutso kill-o. That's basically the same idea as The Children then, but I'll always watch a killer kids flick. This stars Elijah Wood and Allison Pill, amongst others.

--- Pussy Riot - Lars Von Trier's vagina-rattler Nyphmomaniac now has some American release dates - its two parts will come out seperately on VOD and then later in actual theaters; head over to DH for all four dates from next year when, since I am way to lazy to type out all those numbers myself.

--- X Luthor - Apparently the folks at DC are looking at casting a black actor (or at least they're open to casting a black actor) to play Lex Luthor in their Justice League movie. (I'd imagine he'd be in the Superman-Batman movie somehow too.) Names being bandied are Idris Elba (of course) and Denzel Washington - I haven't been a fan of Denzel's for awhile now but I actually think he could make a terrific Lex. But then I also wouldn't mind Idris being cast in every single movie there is, so. Him and Henry Cavill staring each other down, mmm...

--- Big Bang - In rival world superhero news, Bryan Singer's X-Men Days of Future Fourgy hasn't even come out yet but they're already holding down a date for the next one - X-Men Apocalypse (aww I can't have much fun with that title) will be out at the end of May 2016. So mark your calendars and pray the world doesn't actually end for real before their Apocalypse can come.

--- And Speaking of those silly mutants, now that he's filmed Fourgy Hugh Jackman's now saying he's not totally sure he'll play Wolverine again - I guess somebody wants to renegotiate their pay-check. He says it's dependent on the quality of the movie they can make, as if we're gonna buy that nugget after the last two movies.

--- The To Die List - Over at VF Katey Rich is looking at ten of the movies playing at Sundance in January - Life After Beth looks awesome, I want it right now. Aubrey Plaza as a reanimated zombie girlfriend to Dane DeHaan? Um, yes. Yes, please.

--- Doctor Death - Glorious glorious piece over at The AV Club on why Bryan Fuller's delicious cannibal-program Hannibal is the most beautiful show on the tee-vee right now. I second all of it, every word.

--- Murders & Executions - Christian Bale's got two movies out in the next couple of weeks or so and so The Film Experience is looking back through his career via the posters for his movies. I am really kind of sick of him right now, I hate to admit. I was just talking to Glenn about this, how I wish he'd do give a performance as fun as American Psycho again. But then he's never ever gonna top Patrick Bateman.
