I Am Link

.
---  You're Terrible Toni - I couldn't bring myself to watch Toni Collette slum on that Bruckheimer show Hostages - was it successful? Anybody know? Well she's just lined up an interesting sounding movie gig at least - something called Glassland where she's a drug addict and her son gets involved in human trafficking. Her son's the main character - I am all trying to make it sound like its her movie. Her son will be played by Jack Reynor, seen there to the left looking kind of like a twinkier Chris Pratt. I guess he's in the next Transformers movie.

--- Snowed In - Another day, another lot of depressing details about Harvey Scissorhands Weinstein fucking up Bong Joon-ho's film Snowpiercer for all of us in the US. BFI has a piece on the ongoing shenanigans; apparently Harvey wants voice-overs written by Neil Gaiman or something. We should march on their offices. Set our movie free! I can't wait til its released online via South Korea.

--- Hunamm Out - Charlie Hunnam's dropped out of another movie - this time it's John Hillcoat's follow-up to Lawless called Triple Nine, which he'd joined earlier this year alongside Cate Blanchett and Christoph Waltz. Casey Affleck's taking over Charlie's role of a young do-gooder cop in LA whose crooked fellow officers are looking to manipulate for a heist. Chiwetel Ejiofor and Michael B. Jordan are also joining the film.

--- Mother Robot - Last we knew the role was between Emilia Clarke and Brie Larson - looks like the former has overcome and will play Sarah Conner in the next Terminator movie. I'm glad about this, mainly because I want Brie to make more movies like Short Term 12, which I guess is saying I want her to stay poor, but whatever - she's too good for what will probably end up another generic action movie!

--- Major Tommy - Lots of movies set in and around tanks coming up, doesn't it seem? Now comes word of Panzer 88, which will star Gary Oldman, Jay Baruchel and Thomas Kretschmann, and is about an evil SS officer and some "unstoppable mythical entity" attacking a tank crew. Thomas Kretschmann in a Nazi uniform again? Hells yeah.

--- Blue Sky Stare - Since I don't have anything to say on the teaser trailer for Christopher Nolan's Interstellar (well besides yawn) I'll direct you over to Nathaniel at The Film Experience, who was able to come up with several things to say. I'm so so cold on Nolan right now you guys. So cold.

--- Spanish Crown - It's been awhile since we've heard anything on director Lucretia Martel's follow-up to her great great great film The Headless Woman, a giant period piece about called Zama, but The Playlist has some news today - Pedro Almodovar is going to produce it, and it should shoot next year.

--- And Finally speaking of A Game of Thrones there's a full six seconds - six whole seconds! - of footage from the next season in this preview for what HBO has coming up next year. I spy a Joffrey!
