I Am Link

.
--- Hello Jamie - Yesterday we got that new poster for Nymphomaniac and today there's a batch of new pictures, including that teasing shot there of sweet little Jamie Bell putting on a rubber glove for god knows what. This movie's gonna be a mind-fuck.

--- Crowning Coward - I was at the screening of The Assassination of Jesse James By the Coward Robert Ford in Queens this past weekend (see here's a picture of director Andrew Dominik that I took for proof) but I don't really have anything to say on it that The Playlist didn't write up in their recap of the Q&A. Well beyond the film's a masterpiece, straight up, and seeing it on a big screen again was awe-inspiring.

--- Do Dooms - Maybe we'll hear today who he's playing (they haven't really been playing shit close to their vest over at Warner Brothers) but big ass Jason Momoa has joined the cast of the Batman Vs. Superman movie for now, in an undisclosed role. Speculation says he might be Doomsday. If I were Zach Snyder... well I'd be having a field day with endless parade of the hot guys I'd hired, that's what I'd be doing.

--- Foreign Pressed - The Golden Globes nominations will be announced in two days, can you believe it? I know everybody's been announcing their Top Tens, I'm just not ready for any of it at all yet. Oh well, if time waited for me we'd all most certainly be so so dead. Back on point - over at The Wire Joe Reid takes a look at the maybe wills and probablys of who's getting those Golden Globe noms.

--- Boy Force - Though he's come up a couple of times we haven't had a chance to properly gratuitize Skins actor Jack O'Connell yet and we'd best get around to it soon because his name is all over every project that needs a hot young thing these days - the latest is the Star Wars movies, says DH. Apparently JJ Abrams really liked him. Mmmhmmm.

--- She's No Angel - This is a sentence I never expected to write - The Exorcist director William Friedkin is making a Mae West bio-pic for HBO that will star Bette Midler. All I care about is that Mayim Balik gets to play the young Mae.

--- He Is The Champion - So after ten different names bandying about it's Ben Whishaw who is the chosen one for the Freddie Mercury bio-pic. They got a great great actor, and he's openly gay at that which is crazy (a gay actor playing a gay man - don't try and sell me that bi nonsense with FM - is too rare) but I kind of don't see any resemblance. I suppose they can stick some big teeth in his mouth and put him in a unitard and we'll be alright.

--- Winter Trues - We're only about a month away from Cary Fukunaga's series for HBO called True Detective, which stars Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey as a pair of private dicks on the case of a serial killer over a very very long period of time, and so there are posters to be stared at and clips to be watched. I'm avoiding everything, keeping myself clean. Plus I like to pretend McConaughey's not in it so avoiding press helps.

--- And finally, have you watched the first trailer for the Wachowski's next what-the-fuckery movie Jupiter Acending yet? I posted a shot of Channing and his elf ears and albino hair on Twitter last night with a big "Uhhh" and that's about where I stand. There are things that look cool (Eddie Redmayne looks really cool) and then there is the other 90% of the trailer which I just am, uh,  not ready for. We'll see. Judge for yourselves!
