I Am Link

.
--- Nom Nom - We already took in the photographs from Michael Fassbender's GQ cover but I don't think I linked to the interview, so here's that. I haven't even read it yet. Is this the one where he goes on about not giving a shit about awards? I feel like if he's nominated he'll change his tune. He's just still rightfully stung from his Shame snub.

--- And Speaking of horrific awards snubs, Nathaniel just happened to be interviewing Greta Gerwig yesterday (sigh, so jealous) when she didn't get nominated for the Gotham Awards, and he got her take on what awards mean to her (and honestly, what they mean to her is just what they mean, period). She is so damned amazing.

--- Troll Two - I have such a deep and abiding love for monster world-building (blame He-Man, I guess) that it was inevitable I'd get a kick out of the movie Trollhunter, which was all about introducing us to an entire school of monsters and their respective rules. So's I will pay attention to what it's director does next, even if it's not Trollhunter 2 (I totally want a Trollhunter 2, by the way) - he's going to make an English-language movie called The Autopsy of Jane Doe, about a mortician family who tries to solve the case of a mysterious dead girl.

--- Pretty Pair - Deadline doesn't give us much in the way of details other than it's "a sci-fi tale" but Nicholas Hoult and Kristen Stewart might be making a movie called Equals together - it says a lot about the charm of Nicky that I'm still invested in him after the eye-gougingly awful Jack the Giant Slayer.

--- Good Ghoul - I'm still behind on a bunch of things (I'll get to you, second half of my Comic-Con report one of these days!) so I totally missed this this month, it was a bridge too far, but go check out Final Girl's Film Club on The Last Will and Testament of Rosalind Leigh, which is apprently very good! I totally want to see it. The pile is just very high right now, and there aren't enough hours in the day.

--- A Hard Place - DH rounds up a couple pictures of Dwayne Johnson looking appropriately Herculean and veiny in his respective costumes for Hercules and the next Fast Furious movie. I don't know that I will see either of these movies (especially the latter, as I've yet to see a single Fast Furious movie all the way through) but I'll look at Mr. Rock any day.

--- Girl Abuse - I know I'm supposed to give David Fincher a pass because I love pretty much every movie he's made (give or take a Benjamin Button), but man when I hear these stories about fifty plus takes per shot he just sounds like such a dick. I don't care how he spins it, it's so totally unnecessary and a waste of everyone's time and money. His movies could probably come in at half their bloated budgets without his ridiculousness. It's all ego. That said I hope he is tortuging the ever-loving shit out of Ben Affleck on the set of Gone Girl right now.
