Quote of the Day

.
I'd been hemming and hawing about whether I was going to see Daniel Craig and Rachel Weisz plop their marriage down front and center on Broadway in the Pinter play Betrayal (about a husband and wife and the man (played by Rafe Spall) who comes between them this Fall - tickets to these things are always so damned expensive, and if Craig's not spending half the show in his little black underpants from Girl With the Dragon Tattoo is it worth it? Then I read this interview with the couple in The New York Times, and I deicded it was worth it. I won't say it's only because of this passage, but it didn't hurt...

Asked about Pinter’s dictum that the two male friends not be played homoerotically, Mr. Craig deadpans: “Well, he’s dead now, so he can’t stop this. I can’t tell you how much homoeroticism we’re going to squeeze into this play.”

Seriously you guys, why is Daniel Craig so good to us? He is always saying stuff like this. He is determinded to gay everything up that he touches. He put James Franco to shame, even.

I'm not a huge fan of Pinter but I am a big fan of both of them, enough so that I sat through the cinematic torture that was "Dream House". If only it was Clive Owen instead of Rafe Spall it would be a must see but tickets are sure to be crazy expensive so sadly it will probably be a pass for me. Maybe it will be a huge hit and they'll film it! Unlikely but one can hope.
