Quote of the Day

.
"There will be another Friday the 13th, which will probably get shot in the spring. If it all goes as I would like, it would then be released at the beginning of 2015. It won’t be a continuation of [the 2009 remake], though. It’ll be a fresh story."

-- That's Sean S. Cunningham, the director of the original Friday the 13th (as well as producer of the last four Friday flicks), giving us our Friday the 13th present in the form of some solid-ish dates for a brand new rendezvous with Senor Voorhees. Let's just hope they don't let Marcus Nispel anywhere near it. Who would you hire to direct it? (Do not say Adam Green.)

Steven Spielberg. Plot: This little kid finds the injured and depressed Jason, takes him home and hides him in the closet. They have many comic adventures as the kid helps Jason elude his pursuers. (There's a running gag that has Jason eyeing the nearest weapon of mass carnage--a chainsaw, a blowtorch, whatever--causing the kid to give a patented "Oh, not again..." eyeroll.)

Gradually, the kid's innate charm and warmth make Jason a better person, until the bittersweet ending, when Jason walks back into Crystal Lake, and vanishes beneath the waves.

I see Honey Boo Boo as The Kid.

I say get Joseph Zito or Tom McLoughlin back since parts 4 & 6 are huge fan favorites.
