A Slave in New York

.
(pics via) I didn't really do anything over the long weekend, other than watch a couple of old movies... oh and an entire season and a half of The Sopranos. (I'm halfway through the fifth season right now, and beyond addicted.) Still since I spent the majority of the past few days lounging around like a schlub I was online a lot, so today I'm shocked to see just how much news I missed. I missed a ton of news! I've got an "I Am Link" post coming up later in which I'll try to cover some of it, but until then here's the most galling thing I missed - Steve McQueen's 12 Years a Slave will indeed be playing the New York Film Festival after all! Score! They haven't given an exact date for when it will be screening yet, which would be nice - I've got a lot going on during those weeks, dudes; give me some advanced warning! - but confirmation of it being here is grand. They're billing it as it's American premiere and they say a ton of the cast - yes, including Michael Fassbender - will be here. The last time Michael Fassbender was here for the New York Film Festival, I sat at a table with him and talked to him. (And our feet totally touched, which means we're married.) That would be nice again.
