They Are What They Are

I'm kind of surprised to look and see that I never reviewed the original 2010 Mexican version of We Are What We Are, which I found unsettling and interesting in thematic ways which we don't get enough from our horror movies these days, but sure enough I never did. I have been meaning to rewatch it though, and now that we're coming upon the release of its American remake, the timing seems right. This new version, with Michael Parks and Kelly McGillis (not to mention Wyatt "Son of Kurt and Goldie" Russell in - and half out - of a deputy uniform) comes out on September 28th, and I've already seen it but they've got my lips zipped review-wise until it's out.
