I Am Link

.
--- A Her Deferred - Well I guess I'll most definitely be splurging on tickets to Spike Jonze's new flick Her when it screens as the closing night film of the New York Film Festival, because the studio just moved its actual release date back a month from Thanksgiving to Awards-Glut-Tober, aka December. And I suppose I should mention that writing this news down just now reminded me of a dirty dream I had about Spike Jonze the other night. Or maybe I shouldn't have mentioned that? Whatever.

--- Stifler's Mom For Mads - Vulture chatted with the ever ebullient Jennifer Coolidge at a party for her new movie Austenland (does that look good to anyone else, or am I totally nuts?) and found out her big crush is everybody's favorite sexytime cannibal Mads Mikkelsen. Good taste, lady.

--- End Nigh - Edgar Wright's third film in his Pegg-Frost trilogy The World's End is out next week, and it's so totally good you guys, read my review over here. Anyway io9 has a really beautiful poster for it from the artist Alex Pardee, go check it out, I want it.
.
--- Desert Crossing - Ridley Scott is probably going to make a movie called Exodus next, which will be about Moses (or as Anne Baxter once upon an ancient time called him, "Moooooooooozzzzzesssssss") versus Ramses, because Biblical Epics are suddenly the rage, what with Darren Aronofsky off making Noah right now. Most importantly, the acting duo he wants to headline the movie and play the bickering ex-brothers is Christian Bale as M and Joel Edgerton as R. Joely is just everywhere these days, my goodness.

--- Snowed In - God forbid anybody ever say anything negative about Harvey Weinstein, asshole extraordinaire - check this interview with Chris Evans where he's forced to tiptoe around HW's ego-tripping insistence on editing down Bong Joon-ho's Snowpiercer, which has received terrific reviews as is in Korea, where it's already been released.

--- Windmills Man - Deadline got to chat with director Terry Gilliam and get his frank post-mortem on his ever dwindling Don Quixote movie, which he's pretty much shut the door and nailed the lid shut on; they also have a pair of new pics from his upcoming actually-made imagine-that movie Zero Theorem.

--- Boy Maker - The Playlist has a quote from a Q&A on Reddit with Spike Lee about Park Chan-wook's advice when Josh Brolin went to him for a blessing on remaking Oldboy, as well as a couple new pictures from Lee's film.

--- Lady Business - Julie Delpy is going to write and Cate Blanchett is going to star in an adaptation of the book Cancer Vixen, about a NYC cartoonist "who leads a supercharged Manhattan lifestyle" who gets breast cancer and rethinks her life, aka her "supercharged Manhattan lifestyle." We're all such supercharged folks here, y'all!

D'you remember Anne Baxter's way of saying, "Moses, you didn't speak to me at the palace today"? Wonderful suburban sulkiness.
