I Am, Dare I Say, So Excited

.
I'm exactly the right age to have grown up watching Saved By The Bell every day after school (i.e. old), and watch the hell out of it I did, so when I heard the folks that made the shockingly high-larious Showgirls: The Musical had turned their deviant eyes upon that other Elizabeth Berkley vehicle of yore, you couldn't convince me quick enough that seeing it is a must. Bayside! The Musical opens here in NYC on September 12th, and you best believe that I'll be there, hopped up on caffeine pills and ready to laugh! As seen up top April Kidwell, who was spectacularly funny aping deranged stripper dancer Nomi Malone, is getting her Jessie Spano on this time - I presume she'll get to wear some clothes this go-round, which will be nice for her, I think. Nice for us: John Duff, the dude playing Slater, appears to be in a singlet most, if not all, of the time.

And here's the trailer:

I don't really want to write one of those 'Why don't I live in NY' comments, but Damn it, I wished I did just so I could see this thing in all its glory.

I think I'd get really buzzed right before. Not belching drunk or anything, but just buzzed enough that maybe I wouldn't shout out lines from the show during intermissions.

I wish you the best time at Zach and Kelly's prom, er I mean Bayside: The Musical.
