Bat For Laddies

.
Today The Playlist is asking the inevitable question in the wake of Warner Bros' announcement that the next Superman movie from director Zach Snyder will actually be a Superman + Batman movie: who the hell's gonna slip on the bat-suit now that Christian Bale's apparently supposedly one hundred percent outta there?

They came up with five interesting names including the three fellows pictured here whom I find most interesting - Matthew Bomer was of course thiiiiis close to playing Superman back in the day; Nikolaj Coster-Waldau has a jawline that's crying out to the heavens to be shown off in that cowl; and Armie Hammer is at his best (hello The Social Network) when playing well-monied.

Other names in the article and in the article's comments that come up - Joseph Gordon-Levitt (to carry on the Nolan universe), Joe Manganiello (who was apparently Snyder's second choice for Superman after Cavill), Richard Armitage, Colin Farrell, Jake Gyllenhaal, Hugh Dancy... and on and on with my Wish List of most-wanted bedfellows.

So who would you cast?

I love me some Bommer too, but he might be too soft for the role, especially with the cape on. Batman, in my estimation, needs to be bit more steely.

I'm most interested in JoGoLev as batman, especially the continuation aspect, but I could maybe cosign on Jo Manganiello. And I get the Coster-Waldau jawline in that mask. It'd be pretty hot, but still, I'm not sure he makes a lot of sense in the Banner role. We'll see.

Please God, do not have JGL in this. I want TDKR brain bleached from my memory so badly. :(

I say cast Karl Urban as the Dark Knight Detective and continue on as Bruce Wayne. Clark Kent must interact with Bruce Wayne and no one else.

Ever heard of Bailey Chase? He's been in some interesting - and good television shows and a few movies. Every time I watch Longmire I think he should be playing the strong silent hero type. He'd be perfect, he's got the body, the face and the gravitas to wear the cowl & cape. Plus he cleans up nice enough to play Bruce Wayne.
I do, however, like the thought of Bomer playing Nightwing.

Richard Armitage would be amazing as Batman. Otherwise keep Joseph Gordon-Levitt to carry on the legacy.

Adam Sandler--awesome choice.
