Have you seen that, the trailer for the play The Maids, where Cate Blanchett and Isabelle Huppert play maids for that chick who was terrific if under-utilized as Jordan in Baz Luhrmann's Great Gatsby? (Thanks to anon for bringing the trailer to my attention, and for pony for telling me about the show yesterday) It's a play by Jean Genet (aka the due who wrote Querelle), and it's being performed in Sydney through mid-July. And I will never see it! Torment, torment, torment.

there was a movie version of this play made back in 1974 with Glenda Jackson and Susannah York

I remember that version as very much a filmed play, very 'talky'. I bet it would be really different with the Australian cast.
be patient; there's no way this isn't turning up at BAM in the next year or two.
