Today's Fanboy Delusion

Today I'd rather be...

... rolling in the hay with Gary Cooper.

Today marks the 112th anniversary of Coop's birth - naturally this led me to falling down the bottomless pit of pictures of him over at this incredible site, where they've got more fine looks at this most handsome fella than I could probably ever even work my way through, much less post. But hey look it's Gary Cooper with a puppy!

And hey look it's Gary Cooper with a mustache!

Facial hair: not his thing, I guess. Not as much as puppies, anyway. But I did like the batch of pictures of Coop with Richard Arlen in the 1929 film The Virginian that I found...

Coop and Arlen co-starred in Wings as well; I've already documented all the gayness in Wings. They make for a very fine looking couple anyway, wouldn't you say?

Okay so I went ahead and grabbed a few (ha) more pictures of note. I believe these are all from the 1920s - Coop was a beauty for a very long time but I think if I'd have made eye contact with him in the 1920s every single molecule inside my body would have literally transformed into Jello right then and there.

Oh and there are a couple shots of him in some 1929 movie called The Wolf Song that are about as naked as we ever saw him get in movies, I think. Naturally the film itself has been lost, because the universe is very, very cruel. Hit the jump for everything...

Cruel indeed, apparently the original contained a brief full frontal shot of Gary in that scene. There is a negative of the film at the Library of Congress that is incomplete but supposedly contains that scene. Who know if it will ever see the light of day, my guess is the negative is in extremely fragile condition.
