Space Crunches

.
Matt Damon does next to nothing for me in that way, but he's a good actor that I like watching on screen so I suppose if this whole gratuitous thing he's angling for this week (with this and the Liberace movie) doesn't work out for him he can always fall back on his admirable talent and skill-set within the profession he has chosen, or whatever. But for now, this week that is, he or at least the people selling his movies want us to "ooh" and/or "ahh" about him with his clothes off, so sure, somebody's bound to appreciate it. That there above is an "EXCLUSIVE!!!" photo of Matt half-shirted via EW in his new movie Elysium, the second sci-fi effort from District 9 director Neil Blomkamp.

Did you watch the Elysium trailer that got released last night? Personally it didn't do a whole lot for me - the special effects look good enough, but skimmed over like that the story feels kind of rote? I'm hoping there will be hidden layers of meaning to come, which is where D9 excelled. Sharlto Copley looks totally bad-ass as the bearded villain though. Here's the trailer:

ETA And here's another shot of Sharlto, for obvious reasons. (via)
