I Am Link

.
--- Romans Return - Slash has the first couple of not entirely exciting pictures from the 300 sequel, 300: Rise of an Empire - it looks exactly like 300, with the orange skies and brown slash red everything else. But hey, new dudes in skimpy outfits, I'll be there. That's somebody called Sullivan Stapleton to the left. I caught some of the first movie on TV the other day - I really do love that movie. Haters be damned, you're wrong.

--- Thrones Talk - Our pal Sean, whose recaps of A Game of Thrones at Rolling Stone should not be missed, is also getting to chat with some of the actors on the show too - only read these if you're caught up with the show, but here he talks with Sophie Turner, who is an absolute revelation as Sansa, opening up the character in ways that she never was on the page. And he here talks with Natalie Dormer, who's also bringing us a Margaery only hinted at in GRRM's tale.

--- Gain Less - I am so nervous I'll be buckling once again in my "No Michael Bay Movies Ever!" stance - which gets busted every other movie he makes, only to have me hate myself by ten minutes into it - for Pain & Gain if only for the endless parade of roided-out Mark Wahlberg, Dwayne Johnson and Anthony Mackie in little tank tops. I so need a support group. The Playlist has some new pics.

--- Robo Matt - The first poster for Elysium, Neil Blomkamp's still pretty secretive follow-up to District 9, shows the backside of Matt Damon not in a white speedo but rather with some kind of robo-spine and head-cap, so I'm thinking the movie's probably about the fusion of man and machine for warfare, as a guess? I don't know if more's been spoiled or not though, I stopped paying attention. I am enjoying the mystery. Some footage did screen this week and reactions are making the rounds this morning.

--- Punching Edgar - Ooh Edgar Ramirez is making a boxing movie, you guys! Break out the bubbly, this is super cause for celebration! Edgar Ramirez in boxing trunks, all sweaty and bouncing around... ahem. You get the idea. No need to go full steam ahead with the purple prose. But here's a picture of the dude Edgar's playing, and the dude wore short shorts, so somebody get me this movie's costume designer on the phone - keep it real, yo! Anyway Robert DeNiro is also set to star, as his trainer.

--- Two Night Stay - Bates Motel just got renewed for a second season, so they must be happy with it. I am... okay with it? I don't love it, but I am kind of intrigued. I have not watched last night's new episode yet, but I did flip past as it was recording and I saw that mike Vogel was shirtless so I'll definitely be watching it tonight!

--- Mister America - Over at The Film Experience Nat took a look at the first picture from the Captain America sequel which has far far too little Chris Evans defintion to it - I don't want just a silhouette, man! Gimme something I can put my hands on. Anyway Nat also gets into the fact that the Black Widow aka ScarJo will be a major player in this movie, including romance between her and Seb Stan. What a lucky goil.

Sullivan Stapleton is an Aussie actor who played one of Jacki Weaver's sons in Animal Kingdom.

The conversation between Sansa, Margaery and Lady Olenna Redwyne was pure joy. The look Margaery gives after Sansa confesses the truth was such a throw-away but so telling.

But it was hard to concentrate with Dianna Rigg's festooned head stealing the scene.

It's weird because I hate Bates Motel and I like it at the same time. If that makes any sense? In some ways I find it insulting to the Psycho film and that whole universe but I like that a show of that kind exists period. Plus Vera Farmiga is camping it up in a really lovely way.
