--- My Boo - That Tarsem movie with Ryan Reynolds that I posted about earlier was written by the dudes who made the pretty-okay horror flick Carriers a couple years back; well they've actually got a second bit of news today - they wrote a haunted house movie that just signed Scott Speedman as the lead. Also Julia Stiles, but Speedman's the draw here.
--- Ring That Bell - Werner Herzog's bio-pic of "the female Lawrence of Arabia" Gertrude Bell, called Queen of the Desert, has been gathering dust for awhile now - Naomi Watts is supposed to play her, with back-up from Robert Pattinson and Jude Law. Well now we've got word that Jude is officially out because of scheduling, but James Franco might replace him. I wanna live in a world where Werner Herzog can make anything he wants so let's do this, people. But I do want them to rename it to Lawrence of a Labia.
--- Hero Talk - Slash rounds up some Marvel related junk, including a new picture of Chris Hemsworth in Thor 2 (oh and I don't think I ever linked to the trailer for that, but blah, he's dressed the whole effing time!), some pictures of ScarJo and SamJack on the set of the second Captain America movie, as well as a quote from Joss Whedon about how he's written a mystery sibling duo into the script for the second Avengers movie. So who should play the Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver then?
--- Star Makers - Sad I missed out on doing The Film Experience's "Hit Me With Your Best Shot" this week, when they took on the fantastic Judy Garland flick A Star is Born - see what got picked here. I just saw this movie for the first time back in February, here's my review. I really liked it a lot.
--- Dance White Boys - They aren't signed or anything but the studio really wants Channing Tatum and Joseph Gordon Levitt for the leads in their Guys and Dolls remake. I offered my "thoughts" on the matter over at the Tumblr. I stand by it. On the serious tip though - we know he can dance (can he ever), but can Channing sing? Have we heard him sing?
--- GDT TV - I'm kind of burned out on "Guillermo Del Toro says he's making a cool new thing!" news at this point, so many have come and gone, but this sounds nifty - he's going to produce (and direct the pilot) of a new series for HBO based on a manga called Monster, which is about a doctor hunting a criminal that he saved the life of once upon a time.
