That right there is the first clip (or at least the first I'm seeing) of Penn Badgley putting on Jeff Buckley airs to sing a song in Greetings From Tim Buckley, the bio-pic in which the sporadically furry one plays the gone-too-soon crooner who made my ears orgasm back when I was in college. (via) GFTB is out in April - what do we think?

While I think Penn B. is totally hot, there is something missing in his performance as Jeff Buckley. He hits the idiosyncratic notes that Jeff was known for just fine...just something missing. I too 'meet' the 'mysterious white boy' in undergrad, too, but Penn's performance is at a loss. Either way, I'll watch the biopic because I love the source.
The Badge singing The Buckley wasn't what I was expecting but I kinda liked it. True, it wasn't convincing as Bucklley but I need to see more before I give it a thumbs down. Plus, it will be nice just to hear a revival of Jeff Buckley's music. Hallelujah should be real interesting.
And it doesn't hurt that The Badge is so very easy on the eyes.
